The short version: INTENT does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email, or any identifying information. Your conversations are stored anonymously using a session ID on your device.
Who We Are
INTENT is developed by Clarity Labs, founded by Phil Sidler, a psychologist based in Zürich, Switzerland.

What We Collect
INTENT is designed to collect as little data as possible. Here is exactly what is stored:
- Anonymous session ID — a randomly generated identifier used to maintain your conversation history. It is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
- Conversation messages — the text of your exchanges with the philosopher, stored to provide continuity across sessions.
- Commitments — the commitments you choose to record within the app.
- Session metadata — timestamps and usage patterns to improve the experience.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personally identifying information.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the INTENT experience:
- To maintain conversation continuity between sessions
- To track commitments you have made within the app
- To improve the quality of the philosopher's responses over time
We do not sell your data. We do not use your conversations for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.
Third-Party Services
INTENT uses the following third-party services to function:
- OpenAI API — your messages are sent to OpenAI to generate the philosopher's responses. OpenAI processes these anonymously. See OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
- Supabase — our database provider, used to store your anonymous session data securely. See supabase.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat — used to manage in-app subscriptions. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Apple — subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Data Retention
Your conversation data is retained as long as your session ID exists on your device. If you delete the app, your session ID is removed and your data becomes inaccessible.
Because we do not collect identifying information, we are unable to retrieve or delete specific user data upon request — there is no account to look up. Deleting the app effectively deletes your data.
Children's Privacy
INTENT is not intended for users under the age of 17. The app deals with psychological self-examination and philosophical content that is not appropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17.
Not a Medical or Therapeutic Service
INTENT is a philosophical tool inspired by Adlerian psychology. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, or medical advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how your data is handled, please contact us.
